Reading: Nehemiah 1
Character - “Both my father’s house and I have sinned. We have acted very corruptly against You, and have not kept the commandments, the statutes, nor ordinances which You commanded Your servant Moses.” (vv. 6-7).
Reflection: Competency and ability will never be enough to live out the calling of God because character is the foundation of our purpose. God’s primary will is not something to do but the kind of person to be.
Prayer: “Abba, I am a sinful person, and any righteous character in me has come from Christ, but I ask You to cleanse my life of idols, unbelief, immorality, and unloving attitudes so they do not limit or destroy Your calling in my life.”
