DAY 23
Reading: Nehemiah 6, Nehemiah 7
Plurality- “I gave the charge of Jerusalem to my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the leader of the citadel, for he was a faithful man and feared God more than many” (Nehemiah 7:2)
Reflection: Leaders who isolate themselves, are unwilling to trust and delegate to others, and lack the humility to see their need for plurality in leadership are isolated and prey to every sort of downfall. Nehemiah’s willingness to vet leaders, raise them up, and trust them is a sign of his character.
Prayer: “Abba, the mountain is too great for me to cling it alone. I’m not smart enough, healthy enough, or deep enough in my faith. I am praying that you open my eyes to see the people around me to lock arms with for the sake of your great name.”
