Reading: Nehemiah 8, Nehemiah 9
Confession - “...for one-fourth of the day they confessed and worshiped the Lord their God.” (9: 3)
Reflection: There is no revival without the confession of sin by the people of God. The revived heart is more sensitive and ready to confess and repent from sin than the complacent heart that hardly noticed. Their confession was corporate, public and passionate. When is the last time you confessed a specific sin to anyone?
Prayer: “Abba, I have sin in my life. Your word says to deny this is to be a liar or call you a liar. Oh Father, forgive me when I have dealt lightly with my own sin especially while I have been so stern with the sins of others. Today, I name those sins in the confidence of your love and that they have already been paid for by Jesus. I don’t want them to clutter my life any longer.”
