WEEK 1 DAY 1

Captivated By Beauty

Devotional
Have you ever been so moved by something beautiful that you couldn't look away? Perhaps it was a breathtaking sunset, a powerful piece of music, or an act of extraordinary kindness. Beauty has a way of capturing our attention and drawing us in without force or obligation.
This is exactly how Jesus began His ministry. When He walked along the shores of Galilee, He didn't threaten or bribe the fishermen to follow Him. He simply invited them with His presence—and something about Him was so captivating that they immediately left everything behind.

Beauty is anything that touches the soul or delights the heart. Jesus embodied this divine beauty in human form. His grace, truth, and love were so compelling that hardworking men abandoned their livelihoods without hesitation. They weren't following a set of rules; they were following a Person whose very being awakened something deep within them.

This is how our journey with Jesus begins too. Not with a checklist of religious duties, but with an encounter with beauty that captures our hearts. Before we worry about what we should do for God, we need to be captivated by what He has done for us. His grace is the starting point of true discipleship.

Bible Verse
"As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen." - Matthew 4:18

Reflection Question
When was the last time you were captivated by the beauty of who Jesus is, rather than just focusing on what He asks you to do? How might your relationship with Him change if you approached it from a place of delight rather than duty?

Quote
Discipleship begins when the beauty of the grace of Jesus invites us by capturing our hearts.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, open my eyes to see Your beauty afresh today. Help me to be captivated by who You are, not just what You ask of me. Draw me to Yourself not by obligation but by the irresistible beauty of Your grace. Amen.
