WEEK 3 DAY 3
Starting with Honesty
Devotional
We often think we need to clean up our act before coming to God, but that's backwards thinking. True discipleship begins with honesty, not perfection. It starts when we stop pretending and bring our messy, broken selves to Jesus. Think about it - the disciples weren't perfect when Jesus called them. They were ordinary people with ordinary struggles. What set them apart was their willingness to be real with Jesus. They didn't hide their doubts, fears, or failures. They brought everything to Him, and that's where their transformation began. Your journey with Jesus doesn't require you to have it all together. It simply requires you to be honest about where you are.
Bible Verse
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. - Matthew 5:3
Reflection Question
What would change in your relationship with Jesus if you stopped trying to appear perfect and started being completely honest?
Quote
Discipleship doesn't require you to clean up. It does require you to show up and surrender the ugly messes that are within us.
Prayer
Dear God, help me to be honest with You about who I am and where I struggle. Thank You that You accept me as I am, while loving me too much to leave me that way. Give me courage to be real with You today. Amen.
