WEEK 6 DAY 3
No Middle Ground
Devotional
When it comes to Jesus, there's no comfortable middle ground. His claims are too radical, His demands too complete for casual acceptance. We can't simply admire Him from a distance or treat Him as one good teacher among many. Jesus confronts us with a choice that demands our whole hearts. Lukewarm appreciation isn't enough—He calls for complete devotion. This might seem harsh, but it's actually an act of love. Jesus knows that half-hearted commitment leads to spiritual stagnation and ultimately fails to bring the transformation our souls need.
Bible Verse
'Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."' - John 14:6
Reflection Question
What aspects of following Jesus have you been treating casually or half-heartedly?
Quote
Jesus is a lion in the sand. His claim is too great for you to sort of like him, to admire him, to be lukewarm with him, to be in the middle of the road with him.
Prayer
Lord, forgive my lukewarm heart. Light a fire of passion for You that consumes all half-hearted devotion. Help me to love You completely and follow You wholly. Amen.
