WEEK 7 DAY 1

Understanding Sacred Suffering

Devotional
Many of us grow up believing that following Jesus means a life free from hardship. Yet this understanding misses a profound truth about our faith journey. Just as precious metals are refined by fire, our faith is often strengthened through challenges. God doesn't cause our suffering, but He can use it to shape us into something beautiful. When we face difficulties, it's natural to pray for their removal. However, what if these challenges are actually opportunities for growth? What if God is using these moments to draw us closer to Him and transform us into the image of Christ?

Bible Verse
"Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat" - Luke 22:31

Reflection Question
What current challenge in your life might God be using to refine your faith and character?

Quote
"The modern church has a huge blind spot. And it is pervasive. It's pervasive and it has caused more damage. It has caused more professing believers to fail and fall away. It has caused more skeptics to not come to Jesus at all. And that blind spot is this. We have ignored what the Bible has to say about redemptive suffering."

Prayer
Lord, help me see my struggles through Your eyes. Give me the courage to embrace the refining process, knowing that You are working all things for my good. Grant me wisdom to learn and grow through my challenges. Amen.
