WEEK 4 DAY 1

When Vision Gets Blurry

Devotional
Have you ever gotten your first pair of glasses and suddenly realized just how blurry the world had been? That moment of clarity can be shocking - you didn't even know what you were missing until you could finally see clearly. Many of us live with spiritual and emotional vision that's just as blurry. We go through life believing things about God, ourselves, and others that simply aren't true. These distorted beliefs become the lens through which we view everything, affecting our peace, our joy, and our relationships. Maybe you believe God is distant or angry with you. Perhaps you see yourself as worthless or beyond help. Or you might view life as meaningless and hopeless. These aren't just random thoughts - they're deceptions that blur our vision of reality. The beautiful truth is that God hasn't left us to stumble around in spiritual darkness. He's provided the perfect corrective lens, and it's not just an idea or principle - it's a person. Jesus Christ is our spiritual optometrist, helping us see clearly for the first time. When we look at life through Jesus, everything comes into focus. We begin to see God as He truly is - loving, trustworthy, and good. We see ourselves as we truly are - deeply loved and valued. We see others through eyes of grace rather than judgment. Today, consider what areas of your life might be blurry. Where have you been believing lies instead of truth? Jesus is ready to help you see clearly.

Bible Verse
'So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.' - Ephesians 4:17-18

Reflection Question
What false beliefs about God, yourself, or life have been clouding your vision and robbing you of peace and joy?

Quote
Most of us have a blurred, distorted vision of the world, of God, of ourselves, of other people, of life. We have a blurred or distorted vision, not by our eyes, but by our mind.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, I confess that my spiritual vision has been blurry. Help me see clearly through Your truth. Remove the lies I've believed and replace them with Your perfect perspective. Be my corrective lens today and always. Amen.
