WEEK 5 DAY 5
Vulnerability Breeds Vulnerability
Devotional
There's something powerful that happens when one person has the courage to be real about their struggles. When someone shares their authentic story - the messy, broken, beautiful parts - it gives others permission to do the same. Vulnerability breeds vulnerability, and in that sacred space, healing begins. We can't give away something we don't have. We can't dispense healing that we haven't experienced ourselves. This is why our own journey of brokenness and restoration is so important. It's not something to hide or be ashamed of - it's the very thing that qualifies us to help others. When we're willing to listen to what's going on underneath the surface, to hear what's happening in people's souls, we create space for transformation. We communicate that it's safe to be broken here, that we can be fractured together without shame or judgment. This is how evangelism looks different today. It's not just about presentations or programs. It takes someone willing to care in a way that says, 'You're broken, I'm broken. We can be broken here together.' It's about showing people that we don't just care about the destination of their souls - we care about their well-being right now. As we step into this calling, we discover that the mission field is more in us than around us. Our willingness to be vulnerable and authentic becomes the bridge that allows others to encounter the healing love of Jesus.
Bible Verse
'Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden' - Genesis 3:8
Reflection Question
How has your own experience of brokenness and God's healing prepared you to be vulnerable with others and create safe spaces for them to share their struggles?
Quote
Vulnerability breeds vulnerability.
Prayer
God, give me the courage to be vulnerable and authentic in my relationships. Help me to see my own brokenness not as something to hide, but as a gift that can bring healing to others. Show me how to create safe spaces where people can encounter Your love through genuine community. Amen.
