WEEK 8 DAY 1

The Two Yous

Devotional
We all wear masks, don't we? There's the version of yourself you show at work, at church, on social media - polished, put-together, seemingly having it all figured out. Then there's the real you - the one who struggles with doubt, carries hidden wounds, and sometimes feels overwhelmed by life's demands. This internal tension creates a war within our souls, leaving us exhausted from maintaining appearances while our hearts cry out for authentic healing. God sees both versions of you, and He loves them equally. Unlike the world that often only cares about surface-level success, God is deeply concerned with what's happening in the hidden places of your heart. He notices your fatigue, your insecurities, and the unforgiveness you're still carrying. He cares about the overwhelmed feelings that keep you up at night. The beautiful truth is that God doesn't want you to keep living this divided life. He wants to bring healing to your soul - not just a quick fix for your circumstances, but deep, lasting transformation that aligns your inner and outer worlds. This journey begins when we stop pretending everything is fine and start being honest about our need for His care.

Bible Verse
'Where are you?' - 1 Kings 19:9

Reflection Question
What aspects of your 'inside you' have you been hiding from others, and how might God want to bring healing to those areas?

Quote
"There are two yous, aren't there? There's the outside you and there's the inside you. There's the public you, there's the private you. There's the image that you portray, and there's the reality that you are. And these two yous are at war with each other."

Prayer
God, help me to be honest about the war between my public image and private struggles. Give me courage to bring my real self to You for healing.
